Where Can I Serve?

Jesus tells us as His disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of Calvary Baptist Church is our mission to share the love of Jesus. It begins in our own families, our friends and community. Calvary Baptist Church is involved in a variety of ministries from things as simple as doing a fundraiser parking cars, V.B.S. (Vacation Bible School) collecting food for a local food pantry, monthly fellowship dinners.

Mission Outreach

Calvary Baptist is thrilled to be a part of spreading the message of God’s kingdom around the world. We are active in sending missionaries and supporting these missionaries through The Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, Annie Armstrong and The Missouri Baptist Convention, along with other missionaries supported with our money and with our prayers. Each year, a small team from several local churches travels to a foreign country to assist in missionary work. We encourage all  to respond to God’s call for laborers, whether it be by means of help financially,  being a prayer partner, a word of encouragement, or what ever your spiritual gift God has a plan for it to be used here at Calvary Baptist.

Music and Praise

Calvary Baptist is a church that honors God in our music worship and is something our music team strives for. We are a traditional Baptist church with traditional hymns, with a touch of contemporary in our music specials.  We also have some wonderful talent in our church that sing music specials each Sunday morning. If you are looking for a church to share your gift of music, use your talents and gifts to glorify God, then we are the church you have been looking for.

The usher team at Calvary Baptist Church fills an important role. They are involved in directing attendees to their seats, ensuring the safety of the building during services, helping visitors, answering questions, providing direction, unlocking doors, locking doors, and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free.  The usher team is a servant-hearted group of men and women whose ministry is integral to church life.

Prayer Warriors

Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Calvary Baptist Church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. Each Wednesday, we meet for a time of Bible Study and Prayer. Each Prayer meeting and through-out the week names of friends, neighbors, family and co-workers are added to the prayer list and prayed for.  Members of our church throughout the week, are volunteer Prayer Warriors,  praying for you, our pastor, the list of prayer needs, members, special requests, and the growth of our spiritual family.

Committees and Programs

It takes many volunteers in addition to our ministerial staff to help Calvary run smoothly.  The Nominating Committee helps coordinate the volunteers who serve.  If interested in learning more about various opportunities, Church Members can contact a member of the Nominating Committee directly, or  make interest known to a Deacon or Staff who can point you the right direction.
